Research focus, presentations and publications during stay

Charles Taylor is one of the leading philosophers of our times and his contributions on Hegel, moral philosophy, modern identity and social philosophy are milestones of research in social philosophy. Therefore, Taylor held a large number of speeches and graduate classes while in Jena. Among others he gave a presentation on the idea of progress in modern societies entitled ‘Is there really progress?’. The discussions on romanticism and secularization proved especially fruitful for Hartmut Rosas research on the concept of resonance.
