Degrowth in Movement(s) – 32 Alternative Ways to Social-Environmental Transformation
The 32 social movements, alternative-economic currents and initiatives gathered in this volume are looking for alternatives to the prevailing economic model. They require a paradigm shift: away from the focus on competition, profit seeking, exploitation and growth – towards more cooperation, solidarity and an orientation towards practical needs. It is about creating the conditions for a good life for everyone. But what are the different ways for a social-ecological transformation? What hurdles must be overcome? Which groups are involved, who does what and what is the relationship to each other? What alliances are possible? These questions are the protagonists of the movements in a two-year networking and writing process. The resulting contributions motivate each to action and engagement.
