Modern capitalist societies are undergoing a period of far-reaching transformations, which may involve a renunciation of dominant growth patterns, forms of production, and ways of life that have been maintained over decades. It remains to be seen which direction these transformations will take. Against the backdrop of this diagnosis, the German Society of Sociology (DGS) and the DFG research group "Postwachstumsgesellschaften" (Post-Growth Societies) invite you to a double conference to examine and discuss important analyses and forecasts on the "Great Transformation". The event, which combines the second regional conference of the DGS with the final conference of the Jena DFG group of collegiate researchers, addresses the subject in its breadth. The organisers call on sociologists as well as interested experts from fields of social practice to actively participate in the double conference from their respective perspectives and research priorities.

Keynote speakers at the conference include Branko Milanović, Joan Tronto, James K. Galbraith, Gurminder K. Bhambra, Jason W. Moore, Wolfgang Streeck, Maristella Svampa, Massimo De Angelis, Luc Boltanski & Arnaud Esquerre, Margaret S. Archer, Lucio Baccaro, Karina Batthyány, Evgeny Morozov, Philip S. Gorski, and many more.

The conference paper is available for download here.
